Social Marketing, Prevention, and Education Campaigns |
GSO has successfully launched two successful social marketing campaigns aimed at raising awareness on the necessity of HIV screening. The overall message is entitled, “Your Health is Our Concern.” The first series of billboards and bus shelters featured Mayor Ronald V. Dellums with the tagline, “Get Tested. I Did.” The signs spurred an exponential increase in referrals through the 1-800 number listed within the ads, and sparked an increase of foot traffic in local clinics as reported by clinic staff. The second series of billboards and bus shelters featured a picture of Mayor Dellums standing with local East Bay residents, business owners, faith leaders, HIV services providers and physicians. The tagline read, “We know. Do You? Get Tested for HIV.” |
